Twenty Five Years of Doors Opening

Dear Beloved Blog Readers,

I am really excited that our dreary days ahead shall ring with new energy. I not only say this to cheer us joyfully forward but also to say that I am in an upward spiral.

I am fully aware that I can see more clearly a lovely picture of success. I know there will be a lot of adjustments to work with and the work will assist my work to advocate for the life I want.

I am so ready for a great conference that is coming up this month. It’s AutCom’s 25th Anniversary Conference. Its tag line is “Human Rights For All.”

I’m excited to share a bit of the history from the conference issue of The Communicator; A Publication of the Autism National Committee:

AutCom Shares a Birthday and an Anniversary

In July of 1990 both AutCom and the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) were born.  ADA was signed into law as a response to the lack of access and opportunity for people with disabilities, and AutCom was founded because there was no voice for autistic individuals to protect them from the pain and humiliation being inflicted on them by programs that were supposed to protect and serve them.  Both movements sought justice for both work remains to be done.

I am honored to be presenting and you’ll read more about my workshop in a future blog posting.

Brian, Emily and I will go and we’ll get to hang out with our favorite Autistic friends.

Birthday for Lovely Times

I gladly welcome in the new changes of the seasons. They help us grow as they support the growth of the natural landscapes we live in. They support our rituals of life and awesomely texturize our experiences. I am happy to say that we are in a wonderful time so enjoy it please, dear friends.

I told you last year to check out Emily’s dear really daring roll out of her fairies when she premiered them at Burlington’s South End Art Hop.  Well, go again because they have evolved so wonderfully into a small really amazing business called Bluebird Fairies.

The Seasonal Saint of All Things Good

Wanting New

Dear Beloved Blog Readers,

I am really glad that you enjoyed Stuart’s metaphor for my sculpture. He is a great guy and I am so glad I can call him my friend.

​I dearly hope a big change in my life will happen soon. I am moving from one service provider agency to another. I am not mad at the place I am leaving. They have been such a great home for me for so long.

I am really just ready to try something new in a new place. Is this familiar to you too? I know in the fairy tales people set off from home to seek their fortunes. That is what I am doing.

The goal is to get Utter Communication Strategies up and running with me doing movie screenings and talk backs and workshops on the topic of “difference”.

Oh, it will be great to be in business.

I am easily sending you good thoughts for good changes in your life.

What a great experience it can be.
